| Biography: Reverend Avery Headd is a native of Mississippi, were he was raised in the
St. James United Presbyterian Church. He was baptized into the Baptist faith at the Mount
Nebo Baptist Church and Life Center in 1980 under the pastorship of Rev. Anthony James
McMichael.
After diligent dedication in service and commitment to God, Rev. Headd
was called into the gospel ministry in 1982. He was ordained in 1984. Rev. Headd became
the Co-Pastor of Millers Chapel Baptist Church in Conyers, Georgia in 1986 with the
pastorship of Rev. G. F. Gude. After the retirement of Rev. Gude in 1994, he became the
Pastor of Millers Chapel Baptist Church. In 1995, Rev. Headd was called as Pastor of
Poplar Hill Baptist Church in Buford, Ga., where he is continuing in the work of a
flourishing ministry.
He received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Georgia State University and his Masters of
Divinity degree from the Morehouse School of Religion at the Interdenominational
Theological Center, Atlanta, Ga. He has conducted and facilitated many seminars, workshops
and religious retreats. He has held office in the Yellow River Missionary Baptist
Association.
Rev. Headd has served as Vice President of the Hopewell Congress of Christian
Education. From 1998-2002,, he served as the Moderator of the Hopewell
Association.
Rev. Headd has been married to his lovely wife, Marla for
twenty-three years. They have
been blessed with two wonderful children. Meagan and Justin .
In addition, Rev. and Mrs. Headd operate a business as Sr. Sales
Managers with a national leading art company, Artistic Impressions. He also serves on the
advisory board for Artistic Impressions. They enjoy extensive domestic and foreign travel.
Rev. Headd attributes his life to the philosophy that Christ has given
